A hybrid steel-and-bent-ply dining chair in the mid-century institutional school-chair tradition. The frame is square-tube steel in matte powder coat, configured as two splayed A-frame leg pairs that meet at the seat platform — front legs splay forward, rear legs splay back, and the rear tubes continue upward past the seat to form the back support frame in a single continuous bent geometry. The seat and back are bent-ply panels in natural oak veneer, mounted to the steel structure with visible chrome button-head fasteners sized to read as design detail rather than service hardware. The construction logic is honest about its lineage. School chairs from the 1950s and 1960s worked this way — visible frame, visible fasteners, no covers, no upholstery to wear out — because they had to survive decades of institutional use.
